This session is all about celebrating you, the woman behind the business. It's a space where you can pause, reflect, and show up authentically, not just as a business owner, but as the passionate, unique individual you are. In this session, we’ll capture both the essence of your personal story and the energy of your brand, the combination of who you are and what your business represents.
To make sure we’re on the same page and create the best possible experience, please take a moment to fill out this questionnaire. Your answers will help guide me in capturing images that reflect your values, your journey, and the true heart of your business.
What to Expect from Your Portrait Branding Session
I truly value every person I work with and want your branding session to be nothing short of exceptional. I never take this privilege lightly, and I understand how important your time and investment are. My goal is to provide you with a fun, relaxed, and enjoyable experience from start to finish. Many clients tell me they’re pleasantly surprised by how easy and stress-free my sessions feel, even if they don’t usually enjoy being in front of the camera.
Please take a moment to review the information below so you can feel as prepared as possible for your session. If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to reach out via email.
First of all, I’m so glad you’re here. From this point on, I’ll be guiding you every step of the way so you can relax and simply enjoy the experience.
Once you’re booked, we’ll connect via email to talk through everything—choosing the perfect location, planning your wardrobe, and clarifying the look and feel you want your images to convey. Nothing is expected of you to have “figured out” already. That’s what I’m here for.
Custom branding photography is special because it captures more than just how you look in a moment—it communicates who you are, the work you do, and the message you want to share with your clients. My heart is in creating honest, meaningful images that feel natural, authentic, and true to you. Rather than stiff poses or forced smiles, I take a relaxed, documentary-style approach that allows you to be yourself. Whether it’s working at your desk, interacting with clients, or simply being in your element, I create images that reflect your story and your brand.
Below are a few gentle guidelines to help you feel prepared and confident heading into your session.
Location
Together, we’ll choose a location that feels right for your brand. Whether that’s your workspace, studio, office, or a favorite outdoor spot, the goal is to create an environment where you can feel comfortable and authentic. Many clients love shooting at their own workspace because it’s personal and reflective of their work, as long as there’s good natural light. I also have several favorite locations I return to often, and I’m always open to discovering new places that reflect your style. If you’d like guidance, I’m happy to help you decide.
Time
Light plays a huge role in the look and feel of your images, and I’ll help select a time that works best for both your schedule and the lighting. Indoor sessions often work best in late morning when natural light is soft and flattering. Outdoor sessions are typically scheduled in the morning or early evening, one to two hours before sunset for especially beautiful light. My goal is always to work with your day in a way that keeps the session relaxed and enjoyable.
What to Wear
Your wardrobe should feel comfortable, natural, and reflective of who you are and the message you want to communicate. Think about pieces that make you feel confident and professional but still like yourself. Simple, timeless clothing keeps the focus on you and your story, not on distracting patterns or bright logos.
A few tips to help you get started:
Wear something that feels like you. When you’re comfortable, it shows beautifully in your images.
Coordinate colors and textures rather than matching exactly.
Avoid logos, text, and fluorescent colors that can distract from the story you’re telling.
Layers work beautifully, they add texture and movement and are great for adapting to different settings or lighting.
Soft, muted tones and neutral colors often translate beautifully on camera, but the most important thing is that you feel confident and authentic.
Props
I typically keep sessions simple and focused on you, your work, and your environment. That said, if there’s something meaningful you’d love to include, tools of your trade, a laptop, a favourite coffee mug, I’m happy to incorporate it thoughtfully.
Day Of The Session:
On the day of your session, I’ll arrive and we’ll take a few moments to settle in, get comfortable, and look around the space. There’s no pressure, this time is just for you to relax and for us to see what the moment is asking for.
Once I get a sense of the environment, I’ll usually have a few ideas for where to start, and we can begin with something simple and easy.
Most sessions have a life of their own, naturally guiding us toward what feels right.
I’ll be there to gently guide you if needed, but mostly, we’ll follow the flow of the day, capturing authentic moments that reflect you, your work, and your personality, effortlessly and without stress.
